Private Widgets

A Private Widget is one you keep to yourself. It runs on your own Frames without being published to the Widget Library.

info

Private Widgets come with Pro. Patrons get them too.

What makes a Widget private

  • Only you can see it. Its page, its code and its previews stay hidden from everyone else.
  • It never appears in the Widget Library or in search.
  • It has no likes, comments or badges.

Make a Widget private

  1. Open your Widget in the Widget Builder
  2. Choose File > Widget Config
  3. Set Publish Status to Private
  4. Choose Done

Your Private Widgets are listed on your profile, under Private.

Add a Private Widget to a Frame

You can add a Private Widget to any Frame you're an Admin of. In the Widget Library on that Frame, it's listed under Your Creations.

People you share the Frame with see the Widget on it, but they can't open it, see its code or add it to their own Frames.

If Pro ends

If your Pro subscription ends, your Frames stop showing your Private Widgets. A "Private Widget" notice shows in place of each one. They come back as soon as you subscribe again.

You can also publish the Widget, so it works for everyone without Pro.

Drafts

A Draft can't be added to a Frame. To try a Widget on your own Frame before anyone else sees it, make it Private.
